Our Waters
Three club waters for HHAC members
Halstead & Hedingham Angling Club members have access to three club waters, each with its own character, access arrangements and water-specific rules.

Halstead Reservoir
Nestled south of the main town of Halstead, close to Letches Lane and the surrounding farmland, Halstead Reservoir is the club’s main water and one of its most popular venues. Known locally as “The Rez”, it offers a quiet, peaceful setting with mature trees, natural banks and a traditional stillwater feel.
The reservoir was originally built by the farm to provide water for a nearby orchard, giving the lake a practical local history before it became the established club water members know today. It now provides varied fishing for both carp anglers and pleasure anglers, with carp running to over 30lb alongside a good head of tench, perch, roach and rudd.

Catley Cross
Catley Cross is a peaceful day-only club water of approximately 1 acre, offering a quieter setting for members who enjoy relaxed pleasure fishing. With no night fishing, bivvies or bite alarms permitted, it has a calm atmosphere and is ideal for those looking for a more traditional, low-disturbance session.
The water is not heavily fished, which helps keep the fish in excellent condition. It holds carp to over 15lb, along with tench, roach, rudd and perch, giving members a varied mixed fishery in a quiet countryside setting.

Mill Pond
Mill Pond is a quiet day-only pleasure water located on a farm in Great Yeldham. Also known as Hall Lake or The Old Mill Pond, it is a peaceful rural lake of approximately 1.17 acres, suited to float, feeder and light pleasure fishing.
With a varied stock of tench, crucians, roach, rudd, bream, hybrids and perch, Mill Pond offers enjoyable mixed fishing in a peaceful farm setting. Its size and character make it well suited to relaxed pleasure sessions, traditional float fishing and friendly match-style sessions.
